Thought Leader Interview: Marisa Peer

Tell us about yourself and what it is that you do.

For over 30 years, I’ve dedicated my life to working as a therapist – helping clients, including international superstars, CEOs, and Olympic athletes, using my unique method, Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®).

RTT is powerful because, unlike traditional therapies, it goes straight to the root of any issue rather than merely addressing the surface symptoms – so that people experience lifelong change, often in just one session.

After seeing huge success in my own practice, I founded the RTT® School in 2015. To date, we’ve trained over 17,000 therapists, coaches, and practitioners worldwide aged 18-80!

I also started the I Am Enough movement after noticing that the underlying cause of so many of my clients’ problems was rooted in them not feeling “enough.” The movement helps individuals boost their inner confidence, improve relationships, excel in their careers, enhance their health, and breakthrough financial blocks – and has become a global phenomenon, with people marking their mirrors with these simple three words – and changing their lives.

One of the things I am most proud of is The 5-Day Challenge, a free resource designed to help children aged 6 to 11 build self-confidence and resilience. It’s been widely praised in the education industry and is now evolving into a year-long program that we are about to roll out across the UAE.

I’ve also written six books – four of them Amazon best-sellers in the UK and US. But whether I’m writing, speaking on stage, working with private clients, or collaborating with companies, my mission remains the same: to help people realize their limitless potential, understand that they are enough, and free themselves from the beliefs that hold them back from living the life they truly want – and deserve.

How did you initially find your passion and turn your passion into your career?

After studying hypnotherapy with Gil Boyne in Los Angeles and doing further training in psychotherapy, medical hypnotherapy, and other modalities, I was struck by just how many people were spending years in traditional therapy with minimal results.

Most of the time, they were just being given temporary fixes or emotional crutches to treat the symptoms of their pain- rather than treating the root cause of the issue.

This is why I created Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), a method that combines the best of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, CBT, neuroscience, and quantum physics – to deliver profound, lasting results—often in just one session.

RTT works by guiding people to uncover the root cause of their issues, reframe the habits of thought and action that have been holding them back, and rewire and recode their mindset for success.

Why is mental health for corporate employees so important right now?

In today’s fast-paced world, employees are constantly bombarded with the message that they need to do more, achieve more, and be more. This relentless pressure often leads to one of the most common mental health challenges—stress.

Many are juggling multiple priorities, racing to meet tight deadlines, and feeling the strain of having to perform at high levels day in and day out. This kind of pressure can easily spiral into burnout, especially when employees feel overworked, undervalued, or powerless in their roles.

With the added uncertainty of global events, financial instability, and the rise of AI in the workplace, anxiety around job security is growing. Many fear failure or being replaced, which fuels a cycle of worry and overperformance that drains both energy and mental well-being.

Unfortunately, employees often feel they can’t speak up about their struggles, fearing they will be judged or perceived as weak. But the reality is, when these feelings are left unaddressed, the mind and body will eventually push back—often in the form of anxiety, depression, or even physical illness.

Why do you believe the mental health and well-being of employees is so important in the journey to companies reaching their objectives and full potential?

A happy, healthy workforce is more engaged, creative, and motivated to contribute to the company’s goals. When employees feel valued, supported, and mentally healthy, they perform at their best.

However, if employees are battling stress, anxiety, or burnout, their productivity and focus drop, and so does their loyalty to the company.

Creating a culture that prioritizes mental health is key to unlocking a company’s full potential – because it nurtures the very people who are driving its success!

What are your top THREE tips for organizations to promote a culture of employee well-being?

1. Workplaces must foster an environment of open communication. Employees need to feel safe talking about their mental health without fear of stigma or judgment, and it must be clear that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. In an uncertain world, leaders must be the certainty for their employees so they can learn to be the certainty for others.

2. Installing mental health resources that go beyond the surface, like Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), is key to helping employees quickly identify and release limiting beliefs, reduce stress, and build confidence.

3. Leadership should also model healthy behaviors by setting clear boundaries, encouraging balance, and showing that mental health is a top priority. When leaders prioritize well-being, employees feel empowered to do the same.

In the UAE, there is a culture of always being on, constantly checking emails, and being available around the clock, which can lead to burnout. How do you think this should be tackled for workplace well-being?

It’s not just the UAE – this is a growing trend globally. But this “non-stop hustle” culture isn’t a sign of productivity—it’s actually a sign of a poor work-life imbalance and is often a fast track to burnout, stress, and poor mental health.

Companies must play their part in discouraging this for the sake of their employees’ well-being and the health of their business because, ultimately, a burnout workforce leads to lower productivity, a higher rate of sickness absence, and high staff turnover.

Flexible schedules, creating a culture where it’s not only acceptable but encouraged to disconnect after working hours, and enforcing regular breaks can make a significant difference.

Remember, consistency and sustainable success is all about pacing yourself, not running yourself into the ground!

What are your top 5 tips for creating a culture of balance and sustainable success that empowers business success?

1. Set Boundaries

A culture of balance starts with boundaries. Create clear expectations for when employees should be available and when to switch off.

2. Encourage Breaks

Encourage employees to take regular breaks throughout the day to refresh their minds. A well-rested mind is far more productive rather than an overwhelmed one!

3. Foster Flexibility

Offer flexible working hours or remote work options to help employees manage their work-life balance.

4. Promote Mental Health Resources

Provide access to programs like RTT to help employees manage stress, release limiting beliefs, and feel more empowered.

5. Lead by Example

Leaders must model the importance of balance. Show your team that rest and personal time should be a priority, not a luxury.

What does a day in your life look like? How do you personally achieve balance and well-being?

I have learned that balance is all about setting your intentions for the day and being disciplined about where you spend your time and energy—and who you spend it with.

My day starts with practicing gratitude for everything I have in my life and am truly grateful for. As soon as I open my eyes, I say my daily affirmations, I love my life, I love my bed, I love my first cup of tea, etc. Having what I call an aptitude for gratitude makes life better and everything easier. It really is about having that laser focus on all the wonderful things in my life.

I’m intentional about spending quality time with loved ones and making time for self-care, whether it’s reading, relaxing, doing self-hypnosis, or having a cup of tea and simply being present in the moment.

Throughout the day, I make sure to take breaks to recharge, whether that’s a moment to meditate or just to step away from my work – because balance is something we have to actively create ourselves; it doesn’t just happen!

What are your goals or mission for the next five years?

Imagine a world where people can quickly and effectively overcome their mental and emotional challenges, no longer held hostage by old, negative patterns. That’s the world I’m committed to creating!

So, my mission for the next five years is to take Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) to new heights, expanding its global reach and training more RTT practitioners to continue this incredible work so that we can empower more people to break free from the limiting beliefs that hold them back and help them live the lives they truly deserve. We are also pushing RTT into more workplaces and healthcare systems because mental health needs to be tackled at its very core.

One of my biggest passions has always been helping children, which is why I developed the I Can’t to I Can five-day challenge.

Designed for 6-11-year-olds, this program teaches children simple but powerful mind hacks to shift from listening to their inner critic telling them “I can’t” to unlocking their inner cheerleader who says, “I can!” It’s a game-changer.

After launching in the UK and then the US, this program is now in thousands of schools worldwide and has been recognized within the education industry as a powerful tool for well-being.

We recently brought this program to schools in Dubai and have now developed it into a year-long initiative, which we are about to roll out across the UAE. I’m incredibly excited to see how this will change the lives of so many young people.

Ultimately, my goal is to rewrite the narrative around mental health—to help everyone, no matter their age, realize they are enough and that they can completely transform their lives by mastering their mindset.
