Founders and co-founders of 21 Indian startups shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journeys and presented thought-provoking business ideas to global investors on Wednesday at the 12th edition of Elevate, the popular startup pitching series under the Indian Innovation Hub umbrella at the India Pavilion, EXPO2020 Dubai.
India Innovation Hub, since the inauguration of the India Pavilion in October 2021, has hosted over 400 startups from across sectors ranging from retail, health tech, agriculture, FMCG, poultry, dairy, jewelry e-commerce, IT infrastructure, and many more.
With an aim to display ingenious business solutions by 500 startups under the India Innovation Hub umbrella supported by HSBC, ‘Elevate’ pitching series is a key initiative that is providing startups with a unique global opportunity to articulate their vision, gain knowledge about the global sectoral trends, network with fellow new-age entrepreneurs and attract potential B2B investors, over the course of EXPO2020 Dubai.
Multiple start-ups like Artisanal drinks, Cornext Agri products, Kiwi Kisan Window, M/S Neerx Technovation, Terra-X Worldwide, Water N Spices Foodsz, Wayfield Agriculture technology, WEREHAB Technologies, SNM Electronics, DB Delicious Bites, Shoziki Infotech, Soha Organics, GramworlkX, TraceX pitched their groundbreaking ideas in agri tech, food processing and FMCG sector.
Startups including Aadyaa originals, GloAlgeus Innovation, AKM Technologies, Fabulaa, Silverynanos Innovation, and Capximise India also pitched their unique solutions in retail, e-commerce, education, health, and IT technologies. Apart from these, poultry, seafood, and other animal husbandry-related startups like Happy hens, Uzhavarbumi Agro, and Captain French also presented their offerings at the pitching session.
Indian startup ecosystem currently has over 61,400 startups recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), with at least 14,000 recognized during fiscal 2022, according to the Economic Survey 2021-22. India ranks in the top 50 countries in the Global Innovation Index (GII) and is the 5th most startup-friendly country in the world (leading in Asia).
A record 44 Indian startups achieved unicorn status in 2021, taking the overall tally of startup unicorns in India to 88, and within 53 days into 2022, 10 startups have already entered the unicorn club.
To witness the pitches made by the Indian startups, a delegation from Uzbekistan comprising Mr. Fayziyev Ulugbek, Member of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Khasanov Kamoliddin- Deputy Governor of Navoi Region Uzbekistan was also present at the twelfth edition of the pitching series.
