In his 1923 masterpiece, “The Prophet,” Lebanon-born poet, philosopher, and artist Kahlil Gibran wrote simply that “work is love made visible” and “love has no desire other than to fulfill itself.”
I am grateful to write this article for this wonderful publication that highlights entrepreneurs and those who wish to share their gifts and love with the world to help others and, while doing so, visibly show their love through their work.
My gift is to recognize patterns in life and reveal those patterns to the world through companies, books, poems, songs, and articles. Most of my life is having a group or one-on-one conversations with the world’s top visionaries or those who will do whatever it takes to become a great leader who truly transforms society with their gifts.
There are the ones like Dr. Deepak Chopra, to whom I’m grateful for writing an introduction for my next book, “Epic Journey,” or Sir Richard Branson – who, when I spent a week with at his home on Necker Island, asked him how he was still alive, responded that he always had a North Star protecting him – or great friend Melissa Bernstein, the co-founder of the massively successful Melissa&Doug Toys. Melissa openly shares her struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts and transforms those patterns and thoughts into creating one of the world’s most prestigious toy companies.
And there are the less-known but just as bountiful leaders like Alphonso James, who spent 32 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit – he wasn’t even at the scene of the crime. He was released on Valentine’s Day a few years ago but is still fighting his case. Since 1986, he has said the same sentence to himself: “He that is perfect is perfecting perfection in me.”
There are men like Roosevelt Giles, who, as a child was a cotton-picking sharecropper and who prayed for rain so he could go to school – repeating: He prayed for rain so he could go to school. He runs numerous companies and foundations now and invited me earlier in 2024 to help ring the NASDAQ bell, which is where I briefly met Deepak Chopra and then manifested that he would write the introduction for my next book, which is what has happened.
Before giving speeches before large crowds, the late Dr. Wayne Dyer would say this quote to himself: “If you knew who walked beside you at all times on this path that you have chosen, you could never experience fear or doubt again.” I sent the cover of Dyer’s book, “I Can See Clearly Now,” to my publisher, and he responded by sending back a picture of a book cover that … he wrote with Wayne Dyer.
When you are in flow, really in flow, and following your heart, these patterns begin to emerge. It’s like finding a breadcrumb here and there. Maybe at first, there will be 1 a week, then 2, then daily, and eventually the synchronicities begin to create their own patterns and connections.
My favorite patterns as of this article are the following:
- A grateful heart creates an abundant mindset creates exponential network creates limitless opportunities
- Conscious conversations convert to capital, community, and collaboration
- Logic only goes so far. After that, the only logic is illogic and love
- For a select few, there is a determination to seek liberation from social hypnosis
The last one is a paraphrase from the late Robert Johnson, who was a Carl Jung disciple. He focused on many things, including the Grail Quest, which talked about the search for the Holy Grail. Most people, Johnson said, thought the quest for the Grail was an outward search, but, in reality, it was fully inward to heal your heart to heal the world’s heart.
I see the world as a giant broken heart filled with those who have broken hearts. They are not healed, so they are searching for outer gains. A mask to cover their wounds. A lack of individual consciousness creates a negative hive consciousness. There is no judgment or shame here, just an observation from what I’ve seen and the many amazing leaders with whom I’ve connected.
Besides conversing with visionaries, there are tools and assessments to help discover yourself – your true self. Things like the Kolbe A Index, which measures how your brain takes action, to Gallup CliftonStrengths, to Enneagram, to Gene Keys, Numerology, and one of my new favorites, Human Design. In that one, I am the rare Manifestor, which is less than 9 percent of the population. I can intuitively see things, think about it happening, and then it happens. As a Manifestor, I have to tell people how I feel – whether I love them or am annoyed, or maybe a bit of both – to create peace.
I started writing poems recently and posting them online, one of my friends is a top music producer in the United States, and she invited me to make a new hit song in a studio. Later today, I’m talking with one of the world’s top music producers who I know has also followed his heart and intuition throughout his life.
I’ll share this new poem to hopefully inspire you to create something magical within your heart, or, as Kahlil Gibran rightly penned: “Work is love made visible.”
Infinite Love
He loved her at dawn and dusk,
When she yelled and ran
When she sought silence and peace
When she extended her hand
He loved her always and unconditionally
No matter what
The world had turned her back on her, but he never would
He saw her light inside the dark
The truth buried within the fragmented shell
He waited lifetimes for this moment, for their paths to cross
Connected by the mystics and energy unparalleled
Because by loving her, he began to love himself and God
The path to his own heart
To surrender and hope
To the infinite
