Tell us about yourself, your background, and what it is you do
The phrase that describes me best is – A catalyst – and I have been walking the fine line of being a mainstream business and thought leadership advisor and carving a spiritual healing journey for myself and others.
• As a global thought leadership and publicity advisor, with over 25 years of experience, I facilitate, create, and plan tools and activities that help leaders, decision-makers, and boards, articulate their thoughts, communicate about their businesses, and show up for their community!
• As a business advisor to entrepreneurs and founders, I help them find their most authentic leadership and business strategy.
• As a healer, I facilitate transformational journeys for individuals.
What current projects are you working on?
My three most cherished projects in recent years have been in the service of girls and women.
The first one is ‘Seeds of Leadership’ which is aimed at planting seeds of personal leadership in the hearts of young girls in remote locations.
The second is the Global Women Health Innovation Conference (GWHIC) India, the first dedicated event in India with a mission to build health equity. This is one of the most focused and dedicated movements for India, combining a conference, awards, youth engagement, and public awareness programs, all designed to serve women’s health equity. This project is one of my most ambitious to date as far as the scale and reach is concerned. This is co-founded with two of my close friends who are equally committed and dedicated to women’s health.
My third project is ‘Sparkling Portraits’ which is designed as a self-work program and puts women on a journey of self-love and self-acceptance. I want every woman to see herself with the love she has for others. The most often repeated phrases I have heard and keep hearing from women every time I do shoots or attempt to take photographs of women are: ‘I look ugly in pictures’ or ‘I hate the way I look in photos’ or ‘I do not want to be photographed because I look terrible’. I want to do everything possible to change these perceptions.
What is your mission?
My mission is to show up at my best in the morning every day; and sleep every night knowing fully well that I gave that day my 100%, I was my most creative, compassionate, and kind and I did not take anything or anyone for granted.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in the everyday beauty of life, in nature, flowers and trees, and sunshine. I feel inspired by people who are generous, kind, and creative.
I am very fortunate that I have so many inspiring and wonderful people around me.
I find Jennifer Lopez very inspiring; she is my role model when it comes to self-work, making tough decisions when one needs to, and being a fabulous person every day.
What are you most proud of achieving in your career?
That I was able to rise above my fears and create a life that works for me, even though it does not follow the traditional path of success.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your career and how have you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was to decide what path I would follow; of my heart or the one that looked like a formula for success. Making a decision like that was one of the most challenging and took the deepest depth of my courage and truth.
How do you define a great leader?
A leader is one who does not forget that leadership is a journey, not a destination and the power in one’s hands is an act of miracle – placed in one’s hands to do something beyond the job one is holding.
Integrity, empathy, intelligence, and willingness to make things better and leave the world a better one than what one inherited – make a personal mix of the above and other unique skills and then practice being a courageous and authentic leader every day.
What is your favorite leadership quote?
“Don’t move the way fear makes you move. Move the way love makes you move. Move the way joy makes you move,” – Osho.
What are your goals for the next 5 years?
My journey over the next five years is about reaching out to more diverse communities that I have not met yet and to serve them through my projects.
Additionally, I aim to create spectacular, creative and deeply reflective healing retreats for women; to watch them bloom like beautiful flowers, and to facilitate personal transformation journeys. This is one dream I am manifesting right now.
